'Steph Brown from Della Lupa has a voice that rings out like a bell,
pure and pristine both intriguing and disarming"
- Anna Murphy, EARMILK
Della Lupa is a Brighton based Dark-Pop act, founded and masterminded by independent singer-songwriter Steph Brown. A unique fusion that blends captivating Kate Bush-esque alternative pop with meaningful yet sometimes dark lyrical themes, laced with an element of drama reminiscent of classical music.
Since her debut in 2013 Della Lupa has developed a reputation for excellent live performances that has seen her play some of the UK and Ireland's best underground venues including: Ronnie Scotts, Brighton Dome, The Borderline, Whelan’s, The Belfast Empire, and overseas at New York’s Bowery Electric and Rockwood Music Hall.
The new EP ‘Lost For The Long Term’ was recorded with Jag Jago (Maccabees, The Xcerts, Cave Painting) after a successful crowd funding campaign exceeding her target and raising over £4000! The record was released March 2017 and complemented with a sold out show at Bleach in Brighton and a 10 date UK tour supported by Arts Council England. It is available to buy in digital format through all online retailers and in physical format from the 'Merch' section on this site or through Bandcamp.
Steph Brown works closely with a host of professional musicians & artists to make Della Lupa what it is. From left to right, Peter Maccourt (bass & band arrangements), Beccy Blaker & Sally Garozzo (backing vocals), Chris Gwilt (drums), Mike Hawkins (guitar), Amy Squirell, (cello) Bensalem Mitchell (film maker), Beth Steddon (photography and design).
